Space Shuttle Challenger Plaque Re-Dedication Ceremony

A piece of Coronado Middle School history was restored Monday as the Space Shuttle Challenger Plaque was finally placed at the school entrance. This piece of history had originally been dedicated in 1988 at the original campus on D Avenue. Jonathan Burns, a former CMS student, contacted the school to inquire about the plaque and why it had not been placed on the new campus. His father William Burns was the keynote speaker eloquently recalling his son's appreciation of the Space Shuttle Challenger plaque and its significance as a symbol of heroism.
