Coronado High School Ranks in the Top 40

CUSD Sits Above the Rest with State Ranking in the Top 20 of All Districts

Coronado Unified School District was ranked the 18th best school district in California out of 1,022 districts by Niche, with a rating of 4.1 out of 5 by Niche users, which includes parents and students from the district.

Coronado High School ranked the highest in the district, coming in at 33^rd place in California. Coronado Middle School came in a close second, ranking as the 43^rd best middle school in California. Silver Strand Elementary came in at 190 and Village Elementary School at 224 out of 5,825 elementary schools, a ranking placing them both in the top 5% of all schools in California.

Islander Football Tonight in Coronado is Next to Last Step for State Title Hope

By virtue of winning the San Diego CIF Section Division V Championship two weeks ago over Crawford, the Islander Football Team qualified for the newly expanded CIF State Playoffs. Friday evening at 7:30 pm, Coronado (9-4) will host the Southern Regional Championship game,with the opponent being Belmont (14-0) from the city of Los Angeles.

CMS Students Interact with the Human Calculator in a Special Math Experience

Recently CMS math teacher Elizabeth Wertz, sponsored an educational field experience for over 20 CMS students as they traveled to Balboa Park to visit a man known as the "Human Calculator." Bestselling author, Scott Flansburg, has been teaching math and entertaining people with his astonishing math skills for more than 20 years. He currently holds the Guinness World Record for adding the same number to itself more times in 15 seconds than a person can do using a calculator. The students were able to have their own special participatory experience with Scott as he met with them personally during and after his presentation.
