Recently the Technology Resource teachers from Silver Strand Elementary School and Village Elementary School spearheaded creating a scope and sequence plan for digital proficiency and citizenship for kindergarten through grade 5.

Taking the lead on digital proficiency hasn't been a new concept in our District. Ensuring students are prepared for the era in which they live and will later work has always been a priority. We've strived to do more than educate students. We've worked to equip them to be productive and contributing members of society. Here is our story on how that task is being accomplished...

^{Parents Invited to Free Workshop on Walking and Biking Safety for Students}

CMS and Village Elementary parents are invited to a free workshop to learn more about how to make your child's travel to school more safe. The December 8^th workshop at CMS Granzer Hall at 5:30 PM is designed to help parents serve as role models and teach their children safe biking and walking practices. Topics to be covered include safe walking and biking habits, laws for walking and biking in Coronado, and helmet fitting, bicycle maintenance, and security.

Now is a Great Time to Make Your End of the Year Donation

Coronado's public school children rely on the generosity of our community through the Coronado Schools Foundation to provide exceptional learning experiences for all 3,200 Coronado Unified students. The end of the year provides an excellent opportunity to make an important one-time donation or create ongoing monthly donations. With only 10% of CUSD parents donating this year, it's time for parents to step forward and support the many programs that their children enjoy each and every day.
