Teachers and Classified Staff Honored at Retirement Celebration

Nine employees retiring from the Coronado Unified School District were honored at the school district's 2015 Retirement Celebration on Wednesday afternoon in the District's Board Room. Dawn Ovrom, Governing Board President, and Rita Beyers, Senior Director, HR, hosted the event. Also speaking to retirees and their guests were Dr. Jeff Felix, Superintendent, Tamara O'Brien, President of ACT, and Dianne Bechtel, CSEA Representative. The event was catered by Lil Piggy's Bar-B-Q.

The nine retiring employees recognized at the ceremony were:
- Pamela Barton, Teacher of 18 Years currently at Village
- Rebecca Black, Teacher of 35 Years at CHS
- Vangie Gour, Instructional Health Care Assistant of 15 Years currently at Silver Strand
- Kenneth Ireland, NJROTC Senior Instruction of 5 years at CHS
- Gail Massey, Teacher of 16 Years at CHS
- Misty McCartney, Instructional Assistant of 9 Years currently at Village
- Charlene Milner, Instructional Health Care Assistant of 14 Years currently at CMS
- Wendy Santamaria, Teacher of 8 Years at CHS
- Wendy Tugend, Instructional Assistant of 22 Years at CHS
