Fifteen teachers from central Indiana received grants and seven high school seniors received scholarships at the event. In addition, seven students from the first year of scholarships were recognized and awarded an additional $5,000.
CUNA, along with twenty-five financial and consumer groups, is urging Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Mel Watt to remove or reduce the loan fees associated with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guaranteed mortgage loans. The groups sent Director Watt a letter noting that Fannie and Freddie have raised their fees from 22 basis points in 2007 to 58 basis points in 2014. The combination of the fees and LLPAs has priced many qualified borrowers out of the conforming loan market.
