Credit card debt drops in January ended an 11-month streak of increasing card balances, while consumer spending increased 0.5%, as well as government wages and salaries. "These figures are a good indication that spending will continue -- credit and otherwise -- in the months to come," predicts CUNA Senior Economist Perc Pineda.
CUNA Chief Advocacy Officer Ryan Donovan took to CU Journal to dispel the latest falsehoods from bankers regarding the credit union tax status and membership. Bankers took notice of credit unions' presence on Capitol Hill during the 2016 CUNA GAC conference.
CUNA Chief Policy Officer Bill Hampel shares findings from the latest regulatory burden study. CUNA and Cornerstone Advisors performed a rigorous analysis of the current financial impact of regulation on America's Credit Unions, which totaled $7.2 billion.
