Oil pulling is very simple, completely harmless, and inexpensive, unlike most of medical treatments.  The cost is the price of a daily spoonful of organic coconut oil.

Yet it is one of the most powerful forms of therapy.  One of the most striking results of this process is the fastening of loose teeth, the elimination of bleeding gums, and the visible whitening of the teeth.

Oil pulling is incredibly simple and effective.

How to do oil pulling:

Put 1-2 teaspoons of organic coconut oil into the mouth.

Swish for 20 minutes.  Swishing activates the enzymes and the enzymes draw toxins out of the blood.  The oil must not be swallowed, for it has become toxic.  Apparently, the timing is key, according to Dr. Bruce Fife, author of Oil Pulling Therapy, as this is long enough to break through plaque and bacteria but not long enough that the body starts re-absorbing the toxins and bacteria.  The oil will get thicker and milky as it mixed with saliva during this time and it should be creamy-white when spit out. But if you can't do it 20 minutes, just swish anyway!

Spit oil into the trash can, especially if you have a septic system like we do... don't spit into the sink!  Do not swallow the oil as it is

full of bacteria, toxins, and pus that are now not in the mouth!

Brush well.

The potential benefits of oil pulling extend well beyond your mouth.  Oil pullers have reported rapid relief from systemic health problems, such as arthritis, diabetes, and heart disease.

According to Bruce Fife, naturopathic physician and expert in the healing effects of coconut oil, the cleansing effect of oil pulling can be understood with the following analogy:

"It acts much like the oil you put in your car engine.  The oil picks up dirt and grime.  When you drain the oil, it pulls out the dirt and grime with it, leaving the engine relatively clean.  Consequently, the engine runs smoother and lasts longer.  Likewise, when we expel harmful substances from our bodies our health is improved and we run smoother and last longer."

LESSONS FOR KIDS

"I have never understood the importance of having children memorize battle dates.  It seems like such a waste of mental energy. Instead, we could teach them important subjects, such as How the Mind Works, How to Handle Finances, How to Invest Money for Financial Security, How to be a Parent, How to Create Good Relationships, and How to Create and Maintain Self-Esteem and Self-Worth.  Can you imagine what a whole generation of adults would be like if they had been taught these subjects in school along with their regular curriculum?" - Louise L. Hay
