Well Done Matt . . .
Allow me the opportunity to brag a little. One of the great joys of serving as your Council Member, is to be able to work alongside the four highly dedicated persons who serve as you as your District J staff: Sharon Shanahan, Matt Brollier, Jonny Flores and Eric Widaski. Every day they work hard to shape District J into a better place for our families. I am really proud of their deep sense of service and their strong work ethic.
During the past two years many of you have come to work closely with Matt Brollier. Matt originally began his service with District J as your Constituent Services Director. In that role you know that he has worked hard to establish a level of customer service second to none. No issue was too big -- or more importantly -- too small that he would not pour out his heart and soul in trying to serve the constituent caller's needs. He did all that while offering a positive and upbeat attitude to all who sought his help.
As he assumed the role of Chief of Operations for the District, Matt took on new organizing and management responsibilities and helped keep the office well-trained and working to serve all our residents. So, it is bittersweet to now have to bid him farewell.
As some of you may now know, last week, Matt began his service as the Chief of Staff for At-Large Position 5 Council Member Jack Christie. In that role, Matt will not only help to manage that At-Large Council Office, he will also be serving all the people of Houston in helping to formulate policy and coordinate special projects.
Surely, Matt's service to the people of District J has prepared him to serve the City as a whole. I hope you join me in thanking him for his tireless commitment to public service and his stellar work on behalf of the all the people of District J.
Well done Matt! Keep up the good work.
Happy Father's Day . . .
To all of the fathers and father figures in our lives - Happy Father's Day. Thank you for all your sacrifice and love.
God Bless,
-Mike Laster, Council Member - District J
