A Wish For Thanksgiving

O beautiful for spacious skies,

For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

O beautiful for pilgrim feet
Whose stern impassioned stress
A thoroughfare of freedom beat
Across the wilderness!
America! America!
God mend thine every flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self-control,
Thy liberty in law! *

Allow me to simply wish each and every one of you a Thanksgiving holiday complete with joy-filled gatherings, secured by safety in travel, and buoyed by grateful hearts.

Wortham Center tree Lighting - Nov 21

Hundreds of Houston-area children will celebrate the beginning of the holiday season at the Wortham Center Tree Lighting Ceremony - a joyous, colorful festival held in the Grand Foyer of the Wortham Theater Center downtown. The highlight of the event will occur when the Sugar Plum Fairy illuminates 8,000 twinkling lights on Wortham Theater Center's 25-foot tall Christmas tree, beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 21. The festivities will include visits by costumed characters from Houston Ballet's "The Nutcracker," including life-sized fuzzy mice and soldiers.
