It's a month for celebrating: we look towards our second anniversary with the Open House on April 20 (please join us), new degree programs and faculty, and a full calendar as we gear up for even more excitement this summer. Here's what you can expect.
  • The KC Metro Restaurant/Catering Showcase will be held at K-State Olathe April 10 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Come sample and experience amazing cuisine and meet metro area chefs/caterers. $10 cover charge, free parking. More information.
  • K-State Olathe and K-State Salina are partnering to offer a youth camp this summer.  Aviation Fixation will be held on the Olathe campus July 15-17 for youth who are entering 3rd-6th grades in the fall.  For more information, click here.  Hurry, space is limited!
  • The College of Business Administration students are conducting a survey to determine the feasibility of a full-service bistro/cafe within K-State Olathe.  If you would like to contribute your voice by taking the survey, please click here.
  • Save the date! June 27, 4-6 p.m., please join us for a retirement reception to recognize Dan Richardson for his vision and service to Kansas State University Olathe. RSVP to tbogina@ksu.edu or 913-307-7304.
Olathe campus ramps up degree programs; two more to begin this Fall
Beginning this fall (with applications being accepted NOW), in addition to Adult and Continuing Education, are:
  • Horticulture/emphasis in Urban Food Systems 
  • Agribusiness/Animal Health Cohort
Classes will also be offered in graduate programs for Food Science, Veterinary Biomedical Science and Biological and Agricultural Engineering.

April 20 is going to be BIG!  This is the date of the university-wide open house (Salina, Manhattan, Olathe) and will include the KC area Research & Extension offices and the Olathe Horticulture Center at our Olathe campus


From 9 a.m.-2 p.m., we will have activities, displays, booths, free food, games, giveaways, labs, consumer tests, master gardeners, food demonstrations and more! Please bring your family and friends to enjoy K-State Olathe as we approach our second anniversary in the region, and the 150th anniversary of the university.

College of Business Administration to host sales seminar April 26
Give your career a boost with Mike Weinberg, best-selling author of New Sales. Simplified. on April 26 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at K-State Olathe. Practical and actionable takeaways will transform sales results in all areas of business.

The cost is $85 if registered before April 15, and $100 after this date.  The seminar is coordinated by the National Strategic Selling Institute in the College of Business Administration at Kansas State University.

Urban Water Institute names program coordinator
JLeavensJoan Leavens has been named the new program coordinator for K-State Olathe's Urban Water Institute.
Founded last year, K-State's vision for the Urban Water Institute is to develop a premier center of knowledge and outreach focused on sustainable water management in urban and urbanizing environments.
