VisionFirst Advisors Fund a Graduate Assistant Scholarship at Southern Miss
VisionFirst Advisors has funded a full scholarship for Shelby Glover, a graduate assistant enrolled in The University of Southern Mississippi Economic Development Master's Degree Program.  Shelby will be working with Gray Swoope, President and CEO of VisionFirst Advisors, and supporting his efforts working with Pearl River County, Mississippi. 
 
Students in the masters in EcD program select communities to focus their individual projects and assignments on as they learn about economic development - real projects for real clients.  Shelby will be using Pearl River County for her projects.  Ms. Glover is based in the Trent Lott National Center for Excellence in Economic Development and Entrepreneurship on Southern Miss' Hattiesburg campus.

College of Business Has Moved to Scianna Hall
Fall 2015 classes start Wednesday, August 19th and business students will be going to the new Scianna Hall. Southern Miss officials broke ground on Scianna Hall, a 93,000-square-foot facility located next to the Trent Lott National Center for Excellence in Economic Development and Entrepreneurship in 2012. It is named in honor of Southern Miss alumnus Charles "Chuck" Scianna, who committed $6 million toward the project. 

The Southern Miss College of Business offers undergraduate and graduate programs, including an online Master of Business Administration, and houses the following:
  • School of Accountancy
  • Department Economic Development and Tourism, and Sport Management
  • Department of Finance, Real Estate and Business Law
  • Department of Management and International Business
  • Department of Marketing and Merchandising
