Register - Symposium - Earn Professional Development Hours

Professionals are invited to register and attend the Logistics, Trade, and Transportation (LTT) Symposium 2014 and earn professional development hours for:


* American Society of Transportation and Logistics 
* Mississippi Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Surveyors

The LTT Symposium will take place at the University of Southern Mississippi Gulfpark Campus on February 26th and 27th, 2014. 

The LTT Symposium is a great opportunity to earn professional development hours, hear innovative ideas, meet with experts and network to take your business to the next level.

ALUMA-FORM Locating Manufacturing Operations in Walnut
 
ALUMA-FORM locating manufacturing operations in Wa Phil Bryant, officials from ALUMA-FORM and local leaders broke ground today on the company's new manufacturing facility in the Walnut Industrial Park in Walnut, Miss., in Tippah County. The project represents a company investment of $6.7 million and will create 125 new jobs.

From the Walnut location, ALUMA-FORM will manufacture and distribute its overhead power distribution products to its domestic and international customer base.

Camp Shelby Looks to Future in Cyberspace, Drones

As Camp Shelby's role as the National Guard's largest mobilization center is winding down, its leaders are focusing now on a future in cyberspace and drones for the facility.

Camp Shelby will be in the center of a research project just getting under way that will bring together the Army, Navy, Air Force and Department of Homeland Security to figure out the most efficient use of open source software for their unmanned aircraft systems.

Viking to Launch Nearly 60 New Products in 2014

Despite a tumultuous year, executives at Viking Range Corp. say the company has been hard at work and is set to launch a wide range of new and revamped products.

The company was bought by The Middleby Corporation at the end of 2012 and has since gone through two rounds of layoffs and seen significant turnover in its management.

Procurement Opportunities with the Port of Gulfport Restoration Program

The work consists of, but is not limited to: Furnish all materials, equipment, labor, and supervision and perform all operations necessary for the completion of the MSPA's Ship-to-Shore Rail Mounted Container Handling Gantry Cranes, Project No. 034 as described in the contract documents. The contractor shall provide and furnish all tools, equipment, materials, supervision, labor, subsistence, rental, subcontractors, permitting, profit, overhead, appropriate taxes and any other related costs to design, fabricate, transport and deliver three shore based rail mounted container handling gantry cranes to the Port of Gulfport, Mississippi. This work includes all that is necessary to provide the MSPA with a complete project.
