2014 Economic Outlook Forum

The College of Business and The Trent Lott National Center at The University of Southern Mississippi announce the upcoming 2014 Economic Outlook forum sponsored by The First, ANBA. It will be held at the Thad Cochran Center on January 23 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m

This forum will bring together experts from banking, finance, and academia to explore a number of issues and research related to the economic outlook for 2014. Speakers include Robert Strand, Senior Economist, American Bankers Association; Darren Webb, Senior Economist, Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning; Jack Norris, President, Gulf Coast Business Council; Chad Newell, President, Area Development Partnership; and Lee Lawson, President & CEO, Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance. 
 
USM Economic Development Students Prepare for MEDC Winter Conference

The Mississippi Economic Development Council (MEDC) 2014 Winter Conference will be held in Jackson, Mississippi February 5-7 at the Hilton Jackson Hotel. This year the conference will feature 10 site selector consultants from the Site Selectors Guild that will lead sessions and discussions throughout the conference. The Site Selectors Guild is the only association of the world's foremost professional site selection consultants. The Master of Science in Economic Development students are preparing to showcase USM as exhibitors at this year's winter conference. Drop by the USM exhibit and meet some qualified possible interns and future employees.
