NEW MDA INDUSTRIAL PRODUCT GRANT PROGRAM ROLLOUT

The Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) announced its new program designed to assist nonprofit economic development organization or local governments in developing available green sites for industrial development to a group of economic developers assembled at the USM Trent Lott Center. Responding to feedback from corporate location consultants on the need for more project ready sites, the matching grants provide up to $25,000  to help communities prepare locations for industrial attraction or expansion. Some of the eligible projects include wetlands delineation and mitigation, conceptual infrastructure engineering plans, soil testing, and clearing and grubbing. It is MDA's expectation that this grant program will be the first phase of a broader site development tool kit to enhance and market additional site ready options for site selection professionals. For more information.
