Greetings! September is here and we hope you had a great summer! Another school year begins for many and here at Mychal's we welcome new and returning students and their families. Here's what's coming up:

~ The M.I.L.E. program resumes on September 10th and runs through June 10th, 2016.  

~ Mychal's Poker Tournament on Saturday, October 1st

~ Health Fair at Mychal's Learning Place, Saturday, October 22nd 
 
~ Annual Art Show on Saturday, November 12th

Disneyland Trip 

It was a day of Disney park fun and summertime enjoyment for all on August 9th as our students visited the happiest place on earth! Thanks to everyone who helped make this day possible for our students, friends, and families! 
 

      
          
       





            
       In the Spotlight
 
              "Rhett"


Everett "Rhett" is one of the newest
additions to Mychal's Culver City site. He is 16 years old and is the in 11th grade at Village Glen High School. Rhett's favorite hobbies include exploring new environments, train tracks, and helicopters. One of the goals he wishes to accomplish while at Mychal's is to obtain new and long lasting friendships. He is well on his way to doing just that! Rhett makes it especially easy to be his friend because he loves to share his passion for trains with others. His favorite activities at Mychal's include travel training with the whole crew to the Culver City Farmer's Market to shop around for special drinks such as berry lemonade and fresh pressed juice. He makes sure the group travels on the Culver City #1 bus and stops at Culver and Main. The students at Mychal's are looking forward to the great adventures that Rhett has planned for us!


 
Dodger Fun!

Summer wouldn't be complete without a good game of baseball. Our students had a great time at Dodger Stadium last month to watch the LA Dodger's and Phillies play!

Mychal's HATM Café has been in full business mode with weekend events and as a weekly vendor at local South Bay businesses. Our café business is at Mattel each week in the afternoon Tuesday through Thursday. You can also find us at the 1960 E. Grand Avenue building in El Segundo on Tuesday & Thursday mornings (7:30am-10am). Don't forget that Mychal's House Blend is available for purchase online and at our Mychal's Hawthorne location!
