Greetings!
Happy August! We've been active here at Mychal's with trips and activities during these warm summer months. We hope you're keeping cool and enjoying your summer! Here are a few important reminders: ~ Extended summer hours at Mychal's Hawthorne site will continue until August 16th. Our Culver City site summer hours will run until August 19th.
~ The M.I.L.E. Program (Mychal's Independent Living Experience) begins in September---Informational/Q&A Meeting will be held on August 20th at 10:00am.

The M.I.L.E. (Mychal's Independent Living Experience) Program
 The MILE Program runs for 10 months (Sept - June) and is 2 Saturdays per month. MILE is available to transition aged youth, 18-25 years old. It encourages and teaches independent life-skills as well as job training. The goal is to prepare students for life-long daily independent living and gainful employment.
We will have space for 10 students. An Informational meeting will be
held on August 20th, at 10a.m. at Mychal's Hawthorne site. If you haven't done so already, please contact us (info@mychals.org or 310-297-9333) if your interested in having your child participate in the MILE Program starting in September.

PAWsitive features Mychal's Student
PAWsitive recently came out to film Jordan, a student of Mychal's Learning Place. Adopt & Shop is one of our community partners where Jordan has been a volunteer for the past two years. Her affinity for black cats comes from a black cat she used to own named Gracie.
Jordan's special bond with these cats helps her find the confidence to speak and motivates her to participate in interacting with others.

This group will informally address the questions and concerns that families have about their child's Special Education services and support and more. All are welcome and you do not have to be a WRC client to attend. Child care is available - families must RSVP by the day before the group.

Sensory Friendly Film program is now extending their program to four showings per month.
- The second and fourth Tuesday and Saturday.
- Family-friendly movies will continue to show Saturdays, starting at 10am local time
- Tuesday showings have been added at 7pm local time
