Howl at the Moon Café
  
Howl at the Moon Café had the privilege 
of being a part of the Autism Society Los Angeles conference on February 11th and 12th. Mychal's baristas served up lattes, cold brew, and other specialty beverages to attendees of the conference. 

Mychal's Howl at the Moon Café will be at the Torrance Farmer's Market
on Tuesday March 8th and Saturday March 12th ---we hope to see you there!
   
Howl at the Moon Café is available for hire for private catering or as a vendor at community events. We offer specialty coffee service and homemade baked goods. Keep Howl at the Moon Café in mind for your next office meeting or event!

          Maggie 

This is Maggie, she is is 22 years old. Her favorite color is pink. She has attended Mychal's Path to Independence program for about six months. Some of her favorite activities at Mychal's include doing her laundry and attending cooking class. She also really enjoys working for Mychal's Howl at the Moon Café.

Maggie's dedication to hard work has become apparent since starting her training at Mychal's Howl at the Moon Café. In only two short months she has mastered the art of making a latte and can bake a mean batch of gluten free blueberry muffins! Her positive attitude, and refined customer services skills make the Howl at the Moon Café team very proud to call her one of our own.

Maggie is an excellent student and her positive attitude and hard work ethic has earned the Path to Independence Student of the Quarter award. Congratulations Maggie! 

What's Cookin'?

Culver City students sharpen their cooking skills while making a delicious pancake breakfast. First they prepare a menu, then begin to measure, mix and pour the batter onto a hot griddle, flipping when ready. Topped with their favorite fruit makes this a real recipe for independence...Nice work! 

     
   
Valentine's Dance Update
 
Our Valentine's dance was an evening of food, fun, music and dance for those who came out on Saturday, February 13th! Thanks to all of the staff, parents, and volunteers who came to lend a hand. A special thanks to the National Charity League, Inc. (NCL) Manhattan and Hermosa Beach Volunteer group who came to help make this a fun-filled night for our participants.

Bring Me Hope Visit

Chinese interns from Bring Me Hope visited Mychal's in Hawthorne last month. They received a tour of our facility, and surprised our students with a song in Chinese.

Realm of Caring Presentation
 
Realm of Caring will conduct a presentation at Mychal's Learning Place on Saturday, March 5th from 11:30 to 1:00pm. This is an informative presentation to help gain knowledge and awareness of the scientific research of cannabinoid products to provide a better understanding of how the product might work for you or your loved one.

Hand in Hand will be hosting its annual All Abilities Community Fair, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm, at the Malibu Jewish Center & Synagogue.

Sensory Friendly Film program is now extending their program to four showings per month.
  • The second and fourth Tuesday and Saturday.
  • Family-friendly movies will continue to show Saturdays, starting at 10am local time
