Staff Update: Breeding Program Shows On-Target Growth
By Fred Hebard

TACF researchers have demonstrated the occurrence of intermediate blight resistance between a Chinese and an American chestnut, in our 'Graves' and 'Clapper' Restoration Chestnut 1.0  trees and resistance to Phytophthora root rot. Many families of Restoration Chestnut 1.0 trees are growing as rapidly as the American chestnut in the forest, and thanks to the extensive chapter network, TACF has sufficient genetic diversity to restore the species.

Register Today: TACF Annual Meeting on October 23-24, 2015

TACF is partnering with the Schatz Tree Genetics Colloquium to offer a state-of-the-art educational experience called "Integrating Genomics Tools in American Chestnut Restoration." Scientists from around the world will present research on chestnut genomics including: genome sequencing, genetic mapping, marker-assisted selection techniques, and hands-on workshops. Learn more about this exciting colloquium.
