Roasted Chestnuts: A Portuguese Tradition on St. Martin's Day

St. Martin's Day, November 11th, a traditional harvest festival in much of Europe and Scandanavia, is a time of community celebration and outdoor festivities that marks the start of the autumnal season. In Portugal, this is traditionally the day that the wine is ready for tasting and is drunk around an open bonfire along with roasted chestnuts called magusto. Read more!
