Grilled Halloumi 

 



Halloumi is one of the most delicious cheeses we carry.  A sheep's milk cheese from Cyprus, halloumi has a very high melting point, making it perfect for the grill.  For a summertime treat, try this:



1.  Brush an 8 oz. slab of halloumi with olive oil, then grill for about 2 minutes on each side.
2.  Cut the cheese into 1/2 inch chunks.
3.  Sprinkle with a little oregano, olive oil, lemon juice and pepper.

TWO TIPS FOR
BETTER BURGERS

Those of you who purchase our ground beef from Thunder View Farms know that it makes the best burgers around.  To ensure your burgers come out perfect every time, remember:

1.  Don't over "press" your beef - forming the patties with a light touch will help to keep them juicy.

2.  After forming the patties, use your fingers to make a slight indentation in the middle of each burger.  As they cook, burgers swell, and this technique will result in a nice even shape when done cooking.

RHODODENDRON PRUNING

The best time to prune rhododendrons is right after they have finished blooming for the season.
 First take off any dead or injured branches to help reduce the chance for disease and/or insect problems down the road.  Then cut off the tall spindly branches at the top - this will help create a nice full bushy shape.
