Greetings!

Flickering flames of candles, the smell of latkes frying, dreidels and laughter, Hannukah is a great holiday! And the ken celebrated the chag with an awesome Hannukah party! You can read about that, and much more right here!

Camp Miriam Havdallah: Camp Miriam-style Havdallah in the city! Fun activities will be planned for everyone in your family, kids, parents, and grandparents! Scroll down for more details.

The SayCho and ShoTzo are having a super fun skating event! 
Suggested kupa is $7

Nitzanim/Amelim:
The Nitzalim are having an awesome Shabbat dinner at the bayit!

Past Ken Events

Post-Madatz: 
On November 20th the Post-Madatz had a Shabbat dinner at the bayit followed by a discussion about the parsha. 

Post-MBI: 
There was post-MBI havdallah on November 21st. They had a peula about the ken and leadership! We're excited to welcome the post-MBIers to the ken as Madatzim for this semester!

Sayarim/Chotrim: 
At the November SayCho event they watched An American Tail and had hot chocolate and a peula!


Nitzanim/Amelim:
The Nitzalim had an event on November 22nd! They had a lot of fun, and made pudding!
 
Camp Miriam Havdallah

A light meal will be served. There is no charge for this event; donations will be accepted at the door.

Camp Miriam - a Leading Light in the community!

In a special celebration by Or Shalom SynagogueCamp Miriam was recognized as one of Eight Leading Lights making a difference in the lives of children and at-risk populations in Vancouver's East Side communities. Read more on these project and celebration by Or Shalom here.

Ken Hannukah Party

On December 13th we had our big December event where all the kvutzot were invited! Everyone had fun playing games, and making latkes and candles at the bayit. They also told the story of Hannukah with skits!
Fall Seminar

The weekend of November 6th chanichim and madrichim from as far away as Victoria met up in Vancouver for Fall Seminar! 
Everyone had tons of fun, learned lots, and caught up with friends and madrichim from machaneh!


I'm All About That Island Lyfe 
 
The Victoria ken had another fun event on November 28th, it was a Hannukah party! They ate latkes, played dreidel and watched a movie! Stay tuned for their next awesome event!

(Not-So) Little Ken On The Prairie

The Calgary Ken had an event on November 21st, they watched Bee Movie and ate popcorn. They also had an event on December 20th where they went skating and made apple cider, and had an educational discussion about the environment!
 
Solar Kenergy 

The Portland ken had an event on November 22nd where they discussed climate change. 
They also had a Hannukah event on December 6th where they played dreidel, ate way too much chocolate, and cooked delicious latkes together!
They have an upcoming event on January 24th, it's a Tu B'Shevat hiking event in a park in Portland. They're going to discuss the importance of preserving the environment!

By supporting the Camp Miriam Campership Fund or the Alisa Bowman Leadership Fund you can help more Jewish children benefit from this unique experience. 
 
Free Tutoring Program!

At the JCC Library
Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 
 
 
Every Tuesday and Wednesday AND Thursday between 4:30-6:00 in the Isaac Waldman Jewish Public library there is free tutoring run by your favourite Madrichim from the summer! A few of those great people are Jacob Faber, Mia Goodman, Zach Sagorin, Eli Kaplan, Erica Luce and Asher Zetler and tons more! Please stop by and get help with, or just do your homework, as well as have a good time!
