In Christian teaching, the Transfiguration is a pivotal moment, and the setting on the mountain is presented as the point where human nature meets God: the meeting place of the temporal and the eternal, with Jesus himself as the connecting point, acting as the bridge between heaven and earth. Moreover, Christians consider the Transfiguration to fulfill an Old Testament prophecy that Elijah would return again after his ascension.

Do you know Chuck?   May I introduce you to Chuck?
He knows church!

In keeping with our upcoming Lenten 2017 theme
Sacred Reflections Thru the Lens of a Camera
(more on this later)
we invite you to participate in the creation
of a home-grown 2017 Lenten Devotional resource.

Have a photograph or an image that "speaks" to you?
... is a snapshot of an important event or awareness?
... have a picture that marks a life-moment or God-moment?
... or is a reminder of a journey begun, completed, or still traveling?

Send it please.  Bring it please.  Mail it please.
Along with the story or experience to which it relates.

These will be utilized as an online Lenten Devotional Book
for the larger LOCC community, made available
via the newsletter and other periodic emails.

This will continue to be a living and breathing entity,
thus there is no deadline other than the week following Easter.

  More complete information and inspiration
will be sent in a separate email.

I look forward to hearing from you.
Gary
