~ Worshiping God ~
When we are not in the seasons of Advent, Christmas, Lent or Easter,
we are in the growth period of Ordinary Time -
marked by the living and hopeful color of Green.

While the 'seasons' of the church year focus upon one aspect of the presence
of God in our lives, Ordinary Time celebrates all aspects and occurs twice
in the Liturgical / Christian calendar. First during the time between Epiphany and Ash Wednesday, and then again between Pentecost and Advent.
This is why this Sunday we pick up where we left off, at Ordinary Sunday Nine.

May your Ordinary Time be EXTRA-ordinary!

~ Serving Our Neighbors ~

The members of the board of Second Harvest, Inc. would like to express our sincere thanks for your continued support of our organization.  We are in receipt of the donation to Second Harvest representing our portion of the funds received in the LOCC Spring Food Drive.

Our program has grown over the years, both in terms of the breadth of activities as well as the increasing financial needs to support these projects.

For instance, in addition to the cost of the food distributions (approximately $1,500 per month), we support sixty-six children in a weekly backpack program that averages almost $1,000 per month.  We expect to add additional children this fall.

We are always seeking individual "Sponsors of the Month" for our distributions.  It costs $1,500 per month for a sponsorship, which is fully deductible as we are a 501 (c) 3 organization.

These activities are supported by a significant network of volunteers, including members from LOCC.  We welcome members of the congregation to join us at any of our monthly distributions, taking place the third Saturday of every month at Greene County High School.

We hope we can continue to be part of the charitable giving of LOCC in the future.  It is very gratifying to be part of the generous community where we live.

Thankfully yours:
