March in Truro ...
This month we pick up 78 minutes of additional daylight, enough to bring temperatures up about 5 degrees from February. It's still winter, but hopefully just enough rise to slowly start to thaw the frozen ground.
The longer day and the sun's higher arc in the sky are enough to generate 10% more power from our solar panels.
According to past records, we are told to expect an average temperature to 36°F, with average lows of 29°F and highs of 44°F. We traditionally get an average total of 3 inches of rain and 8 inches of snow.
Below are some of the activities and events happening about town this month.

Sustainable CAPE wishes everyone a Happy (almost!) Spring. The 2014 Farmers' Market Forms will be online the end of the first week of March. We're excited for a new season, and we now offer the ability to take both credit cards and SNAP benefits. (And if we raise the funding, we'd like to double those SNAP amounts to encourage the use of SNAP cards at the market.) We're ordering awesome Farmers' Market Tokens for all cardholders to use. Also, we're excited to start our new Farmer-in-the-School program this March. Lots of fun coming up!   More...
