Police Department

Chief Kyle Takakjian provides some additional information on staffing which was presented to the Budget Task Force and Board of Selectmen. The Truro Police Department is dedicated to protecting and serving Truro's citizens and visitors with professionalism, compassion, ethical conviction, and constant availability. This upcoming year, the Truro Police Department is seeking support to hire two additional Police Officers.

Truro Fire Rescue
Open burning season begins January 15 and ends May 1, 2014. A no-fee permit is required from the Fire Department and can be obtained at the Public Safety Facility beginning January 6th. We ask that you read the permit over thoroughly so that you are familiar with the safety regulations and call-in procedure. Please read over a copy of the Fire Marshal's open burning safety tips which will be provided with your permit. Your safety is our number one concern. If you have any questions, please contact the fire department at 508-487-7548. Fire department personnel will be available in the fire station daily from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. If you need a blood pressure check, have questions, or just want to visit, please stop in.

Sustainable Cape
Nico and Xanti hard at work on their paintings in Sustainable CAPE's after-school classes at the Library. They are among the many children who have worked with farmers and artists to patiently prepare for the annual children's exhibition at the library, which will open Jan 31st and run through the month of February. This year's show, entitled "Grow and Crow", features watercolor paintings of favorite hens and roosters. We've spent loads of time sketching, painting and pondering the symbiotic relationship of chickens and gardens - and hope you'll stop by to see!

Housing Rehab Program
The town was awarded the Federal Housing and Urban Development (HUD) CDBG grant from the state. Truro has received $680,907 for loans that are up to $35,000. Typical rehab projects include code violations, energy efficient upgrades, electrical, heating and hot water, windows and doors, roofs and siding. More... |
