October in Truro ...

September 22 was the autumnal equinox, when the sun crossed the equator and night and day were the same length - 12 hours - all over the world. This month, days will continue to shorten almost 3 minutes each day.

Shorter days will drop the average high temperature to 61, with average lows of 46. We get about 6 days of rain with an average total of 3 inches. Expect our first frost.

Below are some of the activities and events happening about town this month.

Truro Farmers' Market  Ends and Gives Thanks
Sustainable CAPE's all-new Truro Farmers' Market had a wonderful first year. Sixteen vendors sold approximately $77,000 worth of locally made and harvested food to an estimated 10,000 people (who learned about health and the environment through educational boards created by kids in our Children's Garden Classes). Many thanks to our awesome volunteer team, vendors, customers, musicians, and to our donors and business sponsors: Cape Air, Cape Cod Five, and Seamen's Bank. Here's to working together for the health of our local community!
Truro Historical Society
The Highland House Museum is closed for the season. Thank you for making it such a success. For more information, see our short recap
