September in Truro ...
The last month of summer, but for many the best...turning left on Rt 6 or going to the PO is no longer a harrowing experience, and it's much easier to get a tee-time at the Links.
Although we lose almost 3 minutes of sunlight per day, our warm surrounding waters keep our average air temperatures from dropping not more than 6°F.
According to past records, we expect average lows of 55°F and highs of 70°F. Great weather for plant growth! We traditionally get a total of 2.8 inches of rain (about the same as August).

Truro Ag Fair
 Sunday, September 1st from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. is the 5th annual Truro Agricultural Fair in Truro Center. Please join us as we celebrate local agriculture, aquaculture, fishing, and farming (and all those award-winning pies!). More... |

Truro Treasures Weekend - Sept. 20-22
 Go to our web site www.trurotreasures.org and participate in our festive weekend Sept. 20, 21 and 22. There is a Prose and Poetry event at the Congregational Meeting House Sept. 21 at 5:00 p.m. Anyone wishing to read a selection of three minutes or less reminiscent of Truro call 508-246-5057. Council on Aging
We will be offering a new indoor walking class at the COA! Participants will walk to music, gently stretching and working on their balance.  The Women's Club Championship came down to the wire with Isabel Peres capturing her second Championship in a row. Police Department
The Truro Police Department in cooperation with its Emergency Management Agency is seeking volunteers to serve on its Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). The program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Interested members of the community are welcome to attend an informational meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 4th at the Truro Public Safety Facility. More... |

Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill
The 2013 Castle Hill "Paints the Race" on Friday, September 6th invites artists and visitors to participate in a unique opportunity to "Paint the Race" from a whale watch boat during the Great Provincetown Schooner Regatta Race. Throughout the three-hour cruise participants are invited to join prominent artists as they paint the town's skyline, harbor, and the dramatic schooners themselves. More...

The Truro Group
 Truro Group recently sponsored Anthony Grandel, a twelve-year-old, sixth-grade graduate from the Truro Central School, for a summer art class of his choice at the Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill. Anthony chose to take a pottery class, Teen Throwing, taught by Caitlin Nesbit, adjunct professor from Framingham State University. Anthony said he really enjoyed learning to work on the potter's wheel. He completed three pieces during the week-long session. |
