August in Truro ...
August -- starts with summer, ends with a hint of fall. Although we lose an hour of sunlight, our warm surrounding waters keep our average air temperatures almost up to July's.
According to past records, we expect an average temperature of 69°F, with average lows of 61°F and highs of 77°F. We traditionally get a total of only 2.8 inches of rain (a bit more than July).

Truro Summer Concerts
All concerts are free. Concert goers are encouraged to bring picnics, blankets, lawn chairs, and bug spray. No alcohol, please. Dogs MUST be leashed at all times. Concerts are at Snow's Park in Truro Center. Parking is available. All concerts are THURSDAY EVENINGS at 6:30 p.m. NOTE: August 22nd and 29th concerts begin at 6:00 p.m. Schedule

Disability Commission
The Disability Commission has a beautiful new logo thanks to talented Truro artist Cammie Watson. The Mobi mats are down at Head of the Meadow Beach and are being used by all beachgoers as a convenient path. This traffic pattern should decrease dune destruction, as well as allow handicapped access. One new beach wheelchair is available at Head of the Meadow and the other is kept at Corn Hill. Check with the beach attendant for information on using the beach wheelchairs.

Assessor's 2014 Preliminary Value$
Fiscal Year 2014 Preliminary values have been approved by the Department of Revenue, and Public Disclosure continues through August 2.
Preliminary values may be viewed online on the Truro home page www.truro-ma.gov under "News and Announcements," and FY14 preliminary property record cards can be viewed on the Assessors Office Page.
Listings of property values also may be viewed at the Truro Public Library, Council on Aging, and the Public Safety Facility.
