     This month days will be 78 minutes shorter by month's end, but we also lose a full hour in the afternoon when we turn our clocks back to standard time at 2 a.m. Sunday morning, November 4th.
     Shorter days will drop the average high temperature to 50°F, with average lows of 37°F.  We get about 5 days of rain with an average total of 5 inches. Expect 7 nights to dip below freezing.
