TCC Group's latest research reveals that women are more effective nonprofit leaders, but are not equally compensated. Making just 75¢ for every $1 dollar men earn, women leaders demonstrate a higher capacity to create and communicate inspiring visions and are stronger at program evaluation. They are also more likely to emphasize staff growth and development, address and resolve conflict, and explore a wide range of problem-solving techniques.

Philanthropy's Influence on Nonprofit Management
Featured in The Nonprofit Quarterly's recent article, "Wagging the Dog: Philanthropy's Influence on Nonprofit Management," TCC Senior Partner Paul Connolly provided insights into best practices. Paul said, "Over the past several decades, funders have raised the bar for performance measurement and evaluation. But when this has focused too much on accountability, it can become mostly a judgmental 'report card.' Instead, more funders have encouraged evaluation to be about improving -- not just proving. By encouraging nonprofits to employ evaluation for ongoing learning and program refinement, greater social impact has resulted." Read more here.

Julie Simpson Named Director of Nonprofit Services
TCC is pleased to announce that Julie Simpson will serve as Director of Nonprofit Services. A highly respected leader with more than 25 years of experience in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors, Julie has helped numerous organizations develop and implement strategic plans, design new business models, and evaluate programs.
Julie believes that effective nonprofit strategy serves as a framework for decision-making. "It's a tool for managing uncertainty and change -- but always based on a hard-earned clarity that underlies an organization's mission. Strategy also provides the filament that connect an organization's everyday activities to the big-picture outcomes that motivate staff and attract donors."
An active author and speaker, Julie is featured in scholarly journals and has presented at many national and international conferences including, recently, at the Independent Sector and the Donors Forum of Chicago. Join us in welcoming Julie to TCC Group.
