Greetings!

,
I hope you all enjoyed the holidays and were able to ring in the New Year with hope and optimism, even as we face daily challenges living with our disease.
During the months of 2014, The Metastatic Breast Cancer Network worked hard to carry out its mission to educate, empower and advocate on behalf of patients and their caregivers. Some highlights of the year included the following:
* As a founding member of the MBC Alliance, an alliance of 30 organizations, MBCN contributed to the development of the MBC Alliance Landscape Report which established goals for the future to better the lives of mbc patients. In 2015, MBCN will have a presence on each of the three taskforces: Research; Information and Services; and Public Awareness.
* In September, MBCN organized a very successful and well-received conference at UNC Lineberger Cancer Center for 230 patients and caregivers. If you could not attend the conference or wish to review presentations, speaker videos are available for viewing on YOUTUBE and the MBCN website.
* October 2014 saw a great increase over previous Octobers in programs, interviews and awareness of metastatic breast cancer and what it is like for patients to live with the disease. MBCN and dedicated members like you helped this happen.
* MBCN partnered this past year with hospitals and other breast cancer organizations/centers to offer face to face and teleconference patient centered programs in Chicago, Boston and New York.
* MBCN has a social media presence through our Facebook page and Twitter feed. Please join us there throughout 2015!
For 2015 we are looking forward to continuing our advocacy and projects while working closely with the MBC Alliance to leverage the resources and interest the Alliance has generated. For 2015, we plan to offer new webinars and face-to-face meetings that address topics that concern patients.
We always welcome your suggestions. Please send me an email at mbcn@mbcn.org.
I wish you all a Happy New Year! May you each have the energy and spirit to live each day fully.
Warmest regards,
