A Family Affair: Conference Chair Deb Tincher & daughter Kristen at last year's conference

Hi Everyone,

The best and most powerful way to spread the word about our 7th National Conference at MD Anderson is YOU!

  1. Look at your own community!  Visit as many Breast Cancer Centers in your area as possible. Ask for someone who works directly with metastatic breast cancer patients and give them this flyer. Just print out the copies you'll need. You can also order our free introductory Get the Facts Brochure  (which explains what metastatic breast cancer is and what our organization does) to take with you by clicking
    HERE

  2. Spread the word on Facebook, Twitter and the message boards. Ask people if they are coming to the conference and let them know if you are. If you write a blog, please consider featuring us in one of your posts. Don't forget to tell your support group, if you belong to one.

Scholarship travel grants are available for those are who have financial need.

Take Care,

Deb Tincher

MBCN Conference Chair

The Genomics of MBC Explained
Do you understand how mapping the genes from breast cancer tumors will lead to better and more personalized treatments for mbc (metastatic breast cancer)?

Here are 2 videos featuring Dr. Heinz-Josef Lenz of USC Norris Cancer Center in California and our own MBCN president Shirley Mertz.

Dr. Lenz has a good presentation manner, using examples we can understand and making a powerful case for re-biopsy of tumors when we have progression. He also outlines a very exciting future in genomic research leading to quicker trials and new treatments.
