The fall and winter months are ideal times to add plants in your landscape.  Large evergreen and shade trees adapt much better when planted this time of year, allowing their root systems to establish before the new spring growth starts. Other shrubs and groundcovers also benefit from planting this time of year. Winter is typically the rainy season here in Georgia so this further helps in the establishment of a strong root system. If your property is not irrigated, this is the best time to address landscaping enhancements in those areas.
