The End is Near!
The semester is quickly coming to a close. There are less than two short weeks of instruction left before the dreaded finals week. Get your ends tied up now so you don't end up cramming (too much) for your exams!
On that note, be sure to stop by RSS before you leave for the break if you need help! Our office will be closed from December 24th through January 3rd.
|
Final Exams
Your final exams will rarely take place at the same time as your actual class. Make sure you prepare by finding out when yours are taking place. You can find the schedule here. You should also confirm the location with your professor.
|
Ordering Tanscripts
Final grades will be posted by your instructors on December 23rd. If you need to get an official transcript for any reason, be sure to order it after this date so it will show this semester's grades. To order your transcript, you must log in to UAOnline. You will find the option to request an official transcript under the Student Services & Account Information menu. If you need any assistance, feel free to give us a call at (888) 478-1452. Keep in mind that this is a process that must be done from your student account. Unfortunately, an advisor cannot initiate it for you.

Last Positive Connection Night!
The final Positive Connection Night of the semester will be hosted by the Alaska Native Education Student Assocation on December 11th. Join us in the Gathering Room for an awesome dinner and a series of Minute to Win It games at 5:00pm!

AISES National
| Students from Region 1 (includes UAF) and Region 3, following the election of Kory Joe, former Nanook and now of Northern Arizona University, to the National Junior Representative position. |
Six students from our UAF Chapter of AISES attended the National Conference held in Phoenix, AZ in November, Baxter Bond, Rachel Conley, John Nelson, Ruth Osborne, Jason Slats, and Lonny Strunk. Ruth presented her research in a poster presentation, "Seasonal Variations in Composition and Photoreactivity of Dissolved Organic Matter Isolated from a Small Sub-Arctic Stream." Jason and former UAF student, Kory Joe, presented a workshop, "From Boeing to NASA: How to Strive, Rise and Thrive in Your Internship." Jason is serving as our representative for Region 1 of AISES. Our students were able to travel with generous support from the College of Rural and Community Development, College of Engineering and Mines, College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, and Undergraduate Research and Scholarly Activity.

Tutoring Services
![](http://www.ctc.uaf.edu/lc/images/IMG_2546.jpg) We hope you're doing great in all of your classes! However, if you feel like you're falling behind or just need a little extra help, make sure you talk to a tutor. We have tons of help on campus, at CTC, and even online! Whether you need to talk to someone about Math, English, Science, or a Foreign Language, you're covered. Visit our tutor page to figure out where and when tutors are available in your subject. In the Gathering Room at RSS, we have tutors from the American Indian Science and Engineering Society to help you with Math, Science, and Engineering questions. You can view their schedule here. We also have tutors from 2-4:00pm Monday through Thursday from the Writing Center to help you with your papers! Make sure to utilize these resources before finals week! Tutors are generally students and need to study as well.
