Spring Break

Spring Break (March 17-21st) is just around the corner. We know it's tough, but hang in there! Take the time to regroup and prepare for the rest of the semester. You'll be a little over halfway through!

Also, keep in mind that RSS, along with most of the offices on campus, will be closed on March 21st.

Permanent Fund Dividend
It's March! That means the PFD is due very soon, the 31st to be exact. If you haven't applied for it yet, do it now! You may blink and find that it's too late.

Here's the link to the online application:

Fairbanks Native Association Potlatch
Tessa Wallis as the 2013 Miss FNA
On Saturday, March 15th at 3:00pm, the Fairbanks Native Association will be having their Annual Potlatch at Chief David Salmon Tribal Hall. Not only will there be food, but the judgement of the Miss FNA Contest will be taking place as well!

If you're interested in being a contestant for the pageant or know someone who is, be sure to call 452-1648 for an application packet. They are looking for Miss FNA, FNA Princess, and FNA Baby contestants. Applications are due by March 7.

Arctic Winter Games
The Arctic Winter Games will be in Fairbanks during spring break this year! From March 15-22nd, athletes will compete in many different events such as skiing, snowboarding, curling, dog mushing, and basketball. If you're interested in going or participating, visit their website!

RAHI Job Openings
Summer may seem like a long time away, but it's closer than you think! If you're staying in Fairbanks and will be looking for a job, you may want to consider working as part of the Rural Alaska Honors Institute's Dorm Staff.

Check out the job description on UAKJobs or give them a call at (907) 474-5876 for more information.

They're also looking for tutors over the summer. You can find that job description here.

Big Brothers Big Sisters

We are also lucky enough to have students from the Writing Center stop by and help with English questions. This semester, they will be in the Gathering Room from from 2-4:00pm Monday through Thursday.
