Please consider running for the CRLS school Council. Every family has something to contribute to CRLS. In May we will again elect parent representatives who will begin serving on the School Council in the fall.
Membership should reflect the racial and ethnic diversity of our school community. We are actively seeking representation from minority families. Your voice is needed.
The CRLS School Council usually meets on the last Tuesday of the month. Click here for more information: http://crls.cpsd.us/schoolcouncil/crls_sc_meetings

Helping Kids Manage Stress and Anxiety: Tips for School and Social Anxiety:
Our kids today face much more stress than any generation before them. From increasing academic pressure to dealing with technology-accelerated social dynamics impacting self-esteem to being bombarded by distressing images by popular media outlets, parents are right to worry about helping their kids successfully manage stress and anxiety. As part of Axiom Learning's Community Service Seminar Series, our next presentation will focus on the causes of stress and how to persist in the face of sometimes crippling anxiety. Topics covered include:
- What are the implications of anxiety academically and socially? - What can I do to support their success in school and beyond? - How do I help my child perform in overwhelming activities and environments? - Challenges, misconceptions and opportunities in supporting anxious students.
Date: Thursday, May 30, 2013 Time: 7:30-9:00 P.M. Location: Axiom Learning, 25 Mount Auburn Street, Cambridge, MA 02138 Telephone: 617-492-4444 Email: info@axiomlearning.com Cost: FREE

News from CRLS Athletic Director:
I am writing to inform you that after numerous conversations with parents, Friends of Cambridge Athletic Members, Coaches, Athletes and Mr.Smith we will be changing the way we distribute our Senior Athletic Awards and FOCA Scholarships. Rather than presenting awards and scholarship on the scheduled date of June 3rd, the FOCA Scholarships will be distributed during Scholarship Night and the Athletic Awards will be presented on May 21st and 23rd in Community Meeting, during a special edition of Falcon Sports Weekly. The Athletic Night has been poorly attended in the past and we feel that this change will allow our student-athletes to be recognized by not only their peers, but also the entire CRLS student body and faculty. This video will also be shown on CCTV and linked to our Website.
Thanks!
