Avionics shop customers must meet ADS-B 2020 Equipage Mandate: But how do aircraft owners pay for it?

Without a doubt, avionics shops are having ongoing conversations with their customers regarding the ADS-B equipage mandate looming on New Year's Day in 2020. And certainly, most pilots and aircraft owners will place future orders for the necessary installation at some point, but those darn financial barriers have caused many folks to delay the equipment upgrade well into the future.

So how can owners and managers of avionics shops help close these orders sooner rather than later? Well, one more financing option just became available when the Aircraft Electronics Association recently announced a partnership agreement with the NextGen GA Fund to accelerate the rollout of NextGen by providing access to quick, affordable financial incentives to aid aircraft owners.

Attendees at the AEA International Convention & Trade Show will learn more about this program during a Lunch & Learn session scheduled for Wednesday, March 12, at the Gaylord Opryland Convention Center in Nashville, Tenn.  More...

Third-Party Audits
Ric Peri writes in this month's "View from Washington" column that "a third-party audit isn't all that bad. The auditors see what you don't, won't or can't, they see the elephant."

He goes on to say "when a third party cites our manual as inadequate, let's take the high road and ask two questions: Does your manual truly reflect your business, and if so, do your practices adequately address the regulations?"

The entire column is available in this month's Avionics News magazine. More...
