General Aviation: A State-by-State Economic Impact Survey

 

The Alliance for Aviation Across America launched a wide-scale economic impact survey to outline the benefit of general aviation on businesses, local economies and communities around the nation. AEA Wired will highlight a different state each issue:

 

Wyoming

Pilots: 1,942

GA Aircraft: 836

GA Jobs: 14,460

GA Economic Impact: $101 million

 

Note: GA tourists spend $31 million a year in Wyoming.

General Aviation Caucuses were formed in the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate in 2009, to inform members and staff about the importance of GA to the nation's economy and transportation system. To date, more than 200 members of the U.S. Congress have signed on to the General Aviation Caucus. Click below to see if your elected representative is a member. AEA Pays Tribute to EAA Founder Paul Poberezny
The aviation industry lost a legend with the passing of Paul Poberezny, the founder of the Experimental Aircraft Association. Poberezny, 91, passed away Thursday, Aug. 22. "Paul always said he felt like a millionaire because he made a million friends in the aviation industry," said Paula Derks, AEA president. "Actually, the general aviation industry should think of ourselves as millionaires amongst Paul, because he gave us a million reasons to be passionate about aviation. He leaves a great mission for all of us to carry on in the future." More...

This course covers all the FOD prevention core knowledge requirements of military standard NAS document 412 and covers all 12 knowledge area requirements of the Foreign Object Elimination Standard created by NCATT, the National Center for Aerospace and Transportation Technologies. At the end of this review, course attendees should be prepared to take the NCATT FOE certification test, which will be administered free of charge (a $100 value).
