The Embry Rucker Community Shelter provided shelter to 12 families (13 adults and 25 children) and 25 single adults (including 8 Veterans). (July 2015 data)
Of the families who exited the shelter, 100% moved to permanent housing. Of the single adults who exited the shelter, 50% moved to permanent housing. Outreach services were also provided to 74 individuals. (July 2015 data)
The Community Case Management program provided services to 7 families (totaling 18 individuals) and 3 single adult individuals to keep them out of homelessness and permanently housed. (July 2015 data)
ASAPP (Assistance Services and Pantry Program) served 1,103 households (2,565) beneficiaries. 563 households received bags of food and toiletry items, with some households also receiving counseling through the Wellness Support program; 435 households received information and referrals and/or life skills classes. $8,900 were provided to help 23 households (72 beneficiaries) in financial crisis to avoid rental eviction or utility cutoff. (April, May, June 2015 data)
The Foreclosure Prevention program assisted 23 households, of which 12 households (37 beneficiaries) have thus far been able to bring resolution to their case to avoid foreclosure. (May, June, July 2015 data)
Through our multi-lingual Pro Bono Legal Clinic at the Southgate Community Center, the largest such clinic in Fairfax County, 12 people were given free consultation with a lawyer. (May 2015 data)
The Community Building Initiative team provided 70 instances of one-on-one support to Reston residents in the Wellness Support and Information and Referral Program, which supports people to achieve their goals through advocacy, support and encouragement. (May and June 2015 data)

NEW! Walk, Create a Team, Raise Funds Online
Cornerstones' new online tool makes it easier than ever for your friends and family to join you for or show their support of the Help the Homeless Season of Walks! Proceeds from the Walks support Cornerstones' Fall Rapid-Rehousing Challenge of moving 15 families and 25 individuals out of the shelter into stable housing with essential supportive services.
