The Family Shelter Program served 14 families (totaling 48 individuals (17 adults and 31 children). Of the 4 families who exited the shelter, all moved to permanent housing.
The Singles Shelter served 38 individuals. Of the 13 who exited the shelter 9 moved to permanent and temporary housing,
Community Case Management provided stability services to 58 individuals to keep them housed and out of homelessness.
The Affordable Housing Program provided case management and housing services to 188 individuals including 44 families to keep them housed and out of homelessness.
Emergency & Self-Sufficiency Services Program served 466 households (1,199 beneficiaries). 281 households received bags of food and toiletry items, 164 households received information and referrals, and 209 participated in life skills classes. $2,061 was provided to help 5 households in financial crisis to avoid utility cut-off or rental eviction.
Through our Pro Bono Legal Clinic at the Southgate Community Center, 19 individuals were given free consultation with a lawyer.
The Foreclosure Prevention Program assisted 19 households, of which 4 household (16 beneficiaries) have thus far been able to bring resolution to their case to avoid foreclosure. In the Pre-Purchase Counseling program, 2 households were assisted.

Cornerstones is
already at work to ensure children in our community are prepared for the 2014-15 academic year. A concerning number of
families in our neighborhoods are unable to afford backpacks, school supplies, or other essential items to help a child be fully prepared to start school. It takes a few simple steps for you to join in and help Cornerstones collect the more than 3,200 backpacks needed for this year's Back-to School Drive. Read More >>
Advocacy Update
Nonprofit Virginia-and other organizations across the Commonwealth-are calling on the General Assembly to honor the deal they made with passage of the 2014 budget and the bipartisan work that has been done this year in developing options to close the health care coverage gap for elderly, disabled and the working poor in Virginia who do not have access to health insurance or nursing home care without Medicaid.

Farmer's Market SNAP-at-Market Volunteers (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program,
formerly known as Food Stamps) are needed to facilitate clients using their benefit to purchase fresh, locally-sourced food directly from vendors at the Reston Farmer's Market.
Activity Leaders
Lead a science experiment, sports event or educational activity, sharing your knowledge and talents with children or adults. Design and conduct a program with guidance from our staff that meets our clients' life skills needs or just adds some enjoyment to their day.
