2,787 instances of services including social services, education, health and well-being, arts and culture, housing, financial literacy, job development and food security, were provided at our Herndon Neighborhood Resource Center and Connections for Hope Partnership.

422 households (1,124 beneficiaries) were served through our Emergency and Self-Sufficiency Services Program. 281 households received bags of food and toiletry items, 55 households 
received information and referrals, 22 households were counseled through the Wellness Support program and 174 participated in
life skills classes. $1,496 was provided to help 3 households in financial crisis to avoid rental eviction.


The Family Shelter Program served 13 families (totaling 44 individuals: 19 adults and 25 children). 4 families exited the shelter for permanent or temporary housing. The Singles Shelter served 41 individuals, of which 10 exited the shelter for permanent or temporary housing. 


The Foreclosure Prevention program assisted 12 households, of which 1 household (3 beneficiaries) have been able to bring resolution to their case to avoid foreclosure.


In the Pre-Purchase Counseling program, 2 households were assisted, with 1 significantly improving the credit reporting score for the head of household.


Through our Pro Bono Legal Clinic at the Southgate Community Center, 25 people were given free consultation with a lawyer.


Community Case Management provided services to 14 families and 6 singles (totaling 53 persons) to keep them permanently housed.

Advocacy Update
Cornerstones will continue to advocate for either extension of Medicaid or Marketplace Virginia in order to provide healthcare to 400,000 low-income Virginians, 30,000 of which reside in Fairfax County. Read more >>
