Summer in the Flathead Valley brings warm weather and guarantees an endless array of activities. Whether you like water sports or hiking, farmer's markets or outdoor patios, there is always something to keep you busy.

Summer also marks a busy real estate season and 2013 is gearing up with more activity than recent years. The residential sales volume for May of this year has climbed to just below May 2007 sales volume. Land sales for May 2013 have surpassed sales from May 2006.   In addition, the number of new listings and sales for bank-owned properties has significantly declined in comparison to May 2012.*

Activity remains sensitive to pricing, as significant inventories remain in most market sectors. Overall however, the market looks stronger than recent years as summer begins.

The Flathead Valley economy thrives during summer tourist season and there are many adventures to be had this summer. Whitefish Mountain Resort opened for their summer season on June 15th with zip line tours, an aerial adventure park, new mountain biking trails, and more. Glacier National Park is becoming more accessible to summer visitors as the snow melts, offering outdoor adventures for everyone. Independence Day is also right around the corner with great festivities such as the fireworks on Whitefish Lake and Bigfork's 4th of July Parade.
