The 2016 Boosterthon is Coming Soon!
Parents!  Shannon Forest is excited to host the Lower School
Boosterthon Fun Run! 
The Boosterthon is this year's ONLY fundraiser for PRO - our Parent's Reaching Out organization.  It's a fun, healthy, character-building program that will kick off with a Pep Rally on Tuesday, April 5, at 2:10 p.m. in the 
East Campus Gymnasium.




It's a SFCS Seussical, Jr. Spirit Night at Chick-fil-A!
Don't want to cook dinner on your first night back from spring break?  
Join us for an evening of Seussical fun at the Pelham Road Chick-fil-A! 
Monday, April 4
5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Cast members from the upcoming musical Seussical, Jr. will be on hand for a story time and photo opportunities, plus a percentage of all proceeds will go to support Shannon Forest's Main Stage Players production of Seussical, Jr.  Remember to tell the cashier, BEFORE you order, that you are there for Shannon Forest Spirit Night.

Another Successful IMPACT Service Day at 
Shannon Forest Christian School! 
Our students served at over 14 different locations all over our community.

Our IMPACT Service Day students were spotted cleaning up the playground at The Haven Homeless Shelter for Families in Spartanburg!

A group of Crusaders are packing "Terrific Kid" packs, helping in the classroom and reading to elementary school kids at AJ Whittenberg Elementary School of Engineering.

Crusaders are helping to feed those in need at the Project Host Soup Kitchen on IMPACT Service day!

Another IMPACT Service Day group spruced up the United Housing Connection with a new coat of paint!

Seussical, Jr. Character Breakfast Planned
Save the date to have breakfast with the characters from Shannon's 
Seussical, Jr.!  On Monday, April 25, the entire family can enjoy a pancake breakfast and the antics of the Cat in the Hat, Thing 1, Thing 2 and more of the cast from our spring musical.

Our Upper School English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) students read children's stories to the 2nd Grade classes yesterday. They practiced English pronunciation and made new friends, too! Pictured left to right are Taylor Ellis, Kaya Thompson, Maya Ferris and Leon Liu.

MIDDLE/UPPER SCHOOL NEWS
It's Time to Register for Upper School Classes!
Upper School course registration for 2016-2017 is now open and will run through tomorrow, Thursday, March 24.  All rising 9th - 12th Grade students must register prior to the deadline of Thursday, March 24.




Kathryn Taylor, our Director of College Counseling, co-chaired the Upstate's first ever national college fair this past Saturday! The event was a huge success, with over 135 colleges represented and over 1,500 students in attendance. Workshops on standardized tests and financial aid were offered. A number of SFCS students volunteered at and participated in the fair.

LOWER SCHOOL NEWS

4th Grade students Thomas and Connor Flannigan demonstrate their "musical sandwiches" made for a science experiment on creating forces of energy.  The question they wanted to answer was, "Can we make a musical sound using simple household items?"  Using Popsicle sticks, rubber bands and straws, the students tested and proved their hypothesis correct.

ATHLETICS NEWS
 

Football Opportunity for Middle & High School Athletes
Any Middle or High School Shannon Forest athlete who is interested in playing football in the fall can now do so through the Greenville Hurricanes program.  All players must be registered online to participate in football.  The registration fee is $375.
Spring Practice will be Monday, April 11 - Friday, April 29; Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 6:00 - 8:15 p.m. at The Lutheran Church of Our Savior.
Fall Practice will begin July 11 on the same days and at the same time and place.
