Discounted Re-enrollment For February Continues
Secure your student's 2016-2017 school year spot in Kindergarten - 12th Grade through Shannon Forest's easy online re-enrollment process.  If you have questions as to whether you have successfully completed the online process, please contact Joanne Heiser at jheiser@shannonforest.com.
 
Re-enrollment rates (per student) are as follows:
Monday, February 1 - Monday, February 29 - $310
March 1 - Open Enrollment begins. 
Regular enrollment fees apply - $450 for each student.


Financial Aid Information
Financial Aid applications are now being accepted.  A student must be re-enrolled in order for a family to apply for financial aid.  Just log in to RenWeb and go to Family Information/Go to FACTS to start your application for 2016-2017 Financial Aid.

 Valuable Tax Season Enhancement From FACTS
With tax season nearly upon us, FACTS Management would like to remind you of a feature available to payment plan families which enables you to quickly and easily create a payment summary.
 
By simply clicking "View Printable Payments Summary" on the Payments tab, you can retrieve and print a summary of payments for the 2015 year or any other specified timeframe. Each payment summary contains the date range, family name, sub-accounts, and your school's Federal Tax ID number.


Aubrie Is Our Crusader Of The Week!   
Aubrie Bolding is in the 2nd Grade and has been at Shannon Forest Christian School for two years. "My favorite part of 2nd Grade is Science and making stuff in the STEM Lab," said Aubrie. She is excited to do their experiment with slime this week. On the weekends, she loves playing outside with her friends and baking chocolate chip cookies with her family. All of Aubrie's friends would describe her as "fun and sweet." She is looking forward to the rest of her time at Shannon. Check back next Wednesday to meet another student from Shannon Forest Christian School.


Candy Grams Are On Sale NOW!
The junior class is once again selling the always popular Candy Grams!  The cost for a Candy Gram with a Hershey Kiss is $0.25 each.  You can add additional kisses for $0.25 each.  Stuffed animal Candy Grams cost $1.50.  The sale will run through Thursday, February 11 with final deliveries made on Friday, February 12.
 

PRO Volunteer Opportunities
PRO - Parents Reaching Out is in need of volunteers for two upcoming projects:
  • An Educational Garden work day will be held on Saturday, February 20, from 8:30 -11:30 a.m.  Please come and help spread remaining mulch and prepare the beds with soil for planting.  Please email Laura Boehm in the the Lower School Office at lboehm@shannonforest.com or call 678-5119 if you plan to attend.
  • The deadline to turn in Box Tops for Education for the school year is quickly approaching, and we need your help.  Please stop by the Lower School Office on the East Campus and help us cut, sort and count box tops.

Senior Yearbook Ad Deadline Is Approaching!
The deadline to complete senior 2016 Yearbook ads is Monday, February 15!
Send a special message to seniors including pictures from their life, by purchasing a senior ad.  Since this is their last yearbook, it is a really special opportunity to give them one last "look back" at these memorable years.
The process is easy:
  • Go to Jostens.com.
  • Choose the Yearbooks option
  • Select Order Your Yearbook Ad
  • Type in Shannon Forest Christian School
  • Create a simple login
  • Once you are logged in, follow the simple instructions.  There are multiple page and style options from which you can choose. You will simply need to insert your photographs, write your letter, submit, and pay!

David Meadors, David Henao, Clark Young, and Gabriel Makowski show off the Mr. Potato Heads they recently created in Middle School French class.  Their creations helped them learn the French word for different body parts. 

LOWER SCHOOL NEWS

Think Summer!
Summer at Shannon registration has begun!  This fun-filled program for students in KT - 5th Grade (completed) runs from Tuesday, May 31, - Tuesday, August 16, 2016.
Upcoming KT - 5th Grade FlexTime Deadlines
  • There will be a half day of school, for LOWER SCHOOL students only, on Friday, February 12.  The deadline to register for FlexTime is Friday, February 5, by noon.
  • Full day FlexTime will be offered for our President's Day school holiday on Monday, February 15.  Participants must pre-register no later than Monday, February 8 at 12 noon.

Debbie Patterson's KT class recently enjoyed a day of winter fun in the classroom!  Students went sledding, played in the snow, sorted and classified winter clothes, did snowman math and enjoyed tasty treats.
 


KT students Amelia Carroll and Caroline Burns proudly display their 100th Day of School posters.  Students in KT and K5 classes collected 205 food items in their 100th Day of School mission outreach project!  All of the items will go to Miracle Hill Ministries.  

Our 4th Grade students brought literature to life when they dressed up for their book reports!

Madeleine Waldrop shared Alice in Wonderland.

Carson Westmoreland read and reported on the Call of the Wild.

Camden Bennett reported on Treasure Island.

Thomas and Connor Flannigan reported on Treasure Island and Tom Sawyer.


4th Grade students Anderson Mathias, Iain Webber and Asher Wynn worked together to build a tall structure strong enough to hold a toy duck in a recent STEM Lab.

New C.A.N. Nutrition Class Available
I Ate The Rainbow! is a mind, body, spirit program designed to celebrate our significance, encourage positive behavior, and remind children of how God created our amazing bodies and the nutritious foods that fuel us. The class is now available for students Age 3 - 5th Grade.
