Hope Floats, SC!  We've Collected 4000 Waters Bottles
So Far, But The Need Is Still Very Real!
Don't let the sunshine fool you, there are still 375,000 people in the Columbia area who are without clean drinking water since the devastating flood of this past weekend.  Many of our own alumni attending USC are among those seeking aid.  Shannon Forest Christian School is asking for donations of bottled water that will be sent directly into the hands of those in need.
Upper School parents - drop your donation off to the West Campus
(US) Cafeteria.
Lower School parents - donations may be dropped off at the
Lower School Office.
We will be accepting donations until 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 8!

ALL SCHOOL NEWS!
Shannon Forest Pays It Forward Day Is Coming!
What better way to spread the good news about Shannon Forest Christian School to our community, than to blanket it with a day of
random acts of kindness.

Ella Grace Is An Active Crusader!
Meet Crusader Ella Grace Belew. She has attended Shannon Forest for three years and is in 1st Grade.  Ella Grace's favorite thing about Shannon is her Related Arts classes. She gets to take a break from English and Math to have fun in PE, Music, and Art. After school, Ella is a member of the Golf Squad, a program that teaches 1st - 8th Grade students about the rules and etiquette of golf.  Over the course of the school year, Ella Grace is looking forward to becoming a Girl Scout Brownie. Check back next Wednesday to meet another crusader from Shannon Forest Christian School.

Grandparents Day Thank You!
Not even record setting rainfall could keep our guests away from Grandparents Day 2015! Over 600 grandparents picked up their passports, their grandchildren and their umbrellas and spent the morning with us.

Business Office Change
Effective Tuesday, October 13, the Business Office will be closed from 12:00 -3:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  During this time, should anyone have a need from Heather Bledsoe or Andrea MacMeccan, please call Linda Jarvis at 678.5116 or stop by her office located in the 200 Building behind the main reception desk.  This change allows for dedicated time to focus on new projects and other business related functions better suited to a quiet setting.  Thank you!

Shannon Beginnings, KT and K5 students recently enjoyed a visit from Boiling Springs Fire Department.  Firemen brought fire trucks and a smoke simulation in the trailer. The trailer filled with smoke, the smoke alarm sounded, and the students practiced crawling out of the trailer.

Our 1st Grade students welcomed a special visitor to campus on Thursday, October 1 - Book Fair Character Day.  WYFF/4 Meteorologist, Dale Gilbert and his wife Trudie came and read a story to a captive audience. Of course the students had lots of questions about Hurricane Joaquin!

Mrs. Stines' 4th Grade class paid a visit to the Innovations Stem Lab and after learning about the Tower of Babel the students realized that if they were not in groups and could not understand each other, they would not have been able to build this tower.  Anna Marina Segars, Emily Long, Asher Wynn work together as a team.
