The 2015-2016 Annual Fund Campaign Has
Officially Begun!
The Annual Fund has been a vehicle that supports the operational expenses of Shannon Forest Christian School.  By doing so, the use of the Annual Fund donations help to provide financial assistance to those students and families who would otherwise be unable to afford to attend our beloved school.

Please join 100% of our Administration and Faculty who believe in the mission of Shannon Forest by contributing to the 2015-2016 Annual Fund.  Our goal this year is $200,000 and donations can be made by clicking on the Donate Now button below, or via check or credit card to the Business Office.

Make the decision to transform a life - help provide financial assistance to families who desire to attend Shannon Forest.

Two Words Describe Crusader of the Week -
Funny & Athletic!
Meet Crusader Brandon Wilkins. "Awesome" is how Brandon would describe 5th Grade in one word. After being a student at Shannon Forest Christian School since PK3 Brandon said, "I love 5th Grade because all the little kids look up to us.  I also have lots of great teachers and friends who always give me help and confidence."  Brandon's friends would say he is funny and athletic.  When he isn't telling a joke, he is probably practicing one of the many sports he plays: soccer, football, baseball, and basketball. Check back next Wednesday to meet another student from Shannon Forest Christian School!

Windy Gap Is Just Around The Corner!
Order Your T-Shirt Today!
This year's Windy Gap t-shirt is designed around the service project Sole Hope.  Sole Hope is an organization that provides shoes to children in Africa, many of whom die from foot related diseases caused by jiggers. Students in 7th - 12th Grade will have a shoe cutting party at Windy Gap. With 200 pairs of old jeans, the students will use stencils to cut the dimensions of the shoes. These cut outs are then sent to the shoe maker in Uganda who sews it together for the children.
In order to receive your Windy Gap t-shirt in time for the trip, ALL ORDERS MUST BE PLACED BY MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 28!

Miss Horton's 2nd Grade class has started guided reading small groups. The students use the program Raz-kids on iPads to read books and participate in  discussion sessions.  Raz-kids is a program that features interactive and downloadable books and reading quizzes.  Small groups meet every day and also practice reading comprehension and phonological skills together.  Tanner Hornsby, Maya Ferris and Joey DeJong meet with
Miss Horton in their small group.

1st Grade students of teacher Sarah Fulk recently practiced saying their colors in Spanish during an innovative color experiment!  Chase Davey, Stella Jo Pedersen, Cate Malone, Reese Kamdar and Lily Cain saw "azul" dissolve in the milk during the experiment with Mrs. Fulk.

22ft Academy Players Lend A Helping Hand At Juvenile Diabetes Event
On Saturday September 19, a group of 22ft Academy players volunteered at the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF): One Walk 2015 held at the BMW Performance Center. It was a great opportunity for the players and coaches to get out in the community for the first time this year as a team and help support a great event that is fighting for a world without type 1 diabetes.  22ft Academy helped with the setup of the event, organized parking, manned the inflatable rides and art stations, as well as tear down and clean up. The players did a great job representing their families, Shannon Forest Christian School, 22ft Academy, and themselves as they met many local Greenville families and community groups.

Germain Remy lends a hand at the recent JDRF: One Walk event.  He is 22ft Academy senior from Spring Valley, New York.
