GRANDPARENTS DAY IS FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2!
The Shannon Forest travel agents are hard at work, planning a morning of activities for Lower School students to share with grandparents
and special friends on Friday, October 2!

Thanks To All For Another Great Tailgate!
The campus was buzzing with pre-game spirit at last Friday's Tailgate party! PRO would like to thank all the wonderful volunteers for their energy and support of such a large community event!  A BIG thanks also goes out to the Crusader Club and Fine Arts Booster Club for "hot off the grill" burgers and dogs and to the Nomadic Few for their VERY popular shaved ice!  Congratulations to our Punt, Pass & Kick winners and most importantly, to our Crusader Football Team for a great first win of the season. PRO would also like to give a shout out to the staff of the Athletic Department for a great night and to Daniel Thompson for a moving tribute to the victims of 9/11.  Just ask anyone who was there...they will tell you...the Tailgate Party was the BEST!

Crusader of the Week
Meet Crusader Anna Pereda. This is her fourth year at Shannon Forest. After spending part of her childhood in France, Anna likes being a freshman at Shannon Forest and she has made lots of friends in high school.  When she isn't hanging out with her friends, Anna is practicing basketball, watching action movies, or touching up on her art skills. "This year in art class we are learning new techniques to improve our drawings," said Anna.
Check back next Wednesday to meet another student from Shannon Forest Christian School.

Windy Gap Is Just Around The Corner!
Order Your T-Shirt Today!
This year's Windy Gap t-shirt is designed around the service project Sole Hope.  Sole Hope is an organization that provides shoes to children in Africa, many of whom die from foot related diseases caused by jiggers. Students in 7th - 12th Grade will have a shoe cutting party at Windy Gap. With 200 pairs of old jeans, the students will use stencils to cut the dimensions of the shoes. These cut outs are then sent to the shoe maker in Uganda who sews it together for the children.
In order to receive your Windy Gap t-shirt in time for the trip, ALL ORDERS MUST BE PLACED BY MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 28!
