Shannon's Debbie Patterson Honored as One of the Upstate's

Top 10 Educators Who Make a Difference!

Greenville's Upstate Parent Magazine - a publication popular among parents with young children - recently honored educators who were nominated by its readers to be making a difference in the lives of Upstate children.  Our own Debbie Patterson was nominated and named one of the "Top 10 Educators Who Make a Difference!"  Mrs. Patterson, a 32-year veteran in education, developed Shannon Forest's unique Transitional Kindergarten Program in 2004 to give students too young for traditional Kindergarten the best start in their education.  To read more, click on the link below:

We're Coming to Your Home for Re-enrollment Night in a

Virtual Experience!

This year you'll be able to re-enroll your student for the 2015-2016 school year in your PJs, slippers and next to a roaring fire in the comfort of your own home!  We are excited to announce that re-enrollment will take place COMPLETELY ONLINE!  There will be NO meeting held on campus.  Watch for emails next week with information and details on the re-enrollment process, as well as a 24-HOUR ONLINE KICK-OFF that will include a reduced re-enrollment fee and drawing for prizes for those who participate.  The 2014-2015 school year has been an outstanding one for the Shannon Forest Christian School community.

In 2014 we:

  • Launched the school year as an independent school and ministry
  • Expanded our Upper School College Planning and Counseling Department
  • Were voted Best Private School in the Upstate
  • Opened Stage 1 of the new Lower School STEM Lab with Tinker Tuesdays
  • Continued to work together to raise funds for the Shannon Forest Hunger Project
  • Made Crusader Football history with an UNDEFEATED season featuring the school's first-ever female kicker
  • Took the Runner-up spot at the Varsity Cross Country State Tournament
  • Achieved outstanding results at the November Youth In Government conference
  • Raised record-breaking donations during the Annual Fund Crusader Call-A-Thon
  • Celebrated the fact that 51 (57%) of our 4th - 6th Grade student body qualified for the Duke TIP Program.

AND, the school year is only half over!  There is no doubt that we will continue to see the Lord's continued blessings at work in our school and ministry.  Re-enrollment for 2015-2016 is an exciting time as we look forward to continuing to grow and strengthen relationships with our Shannon Forest community.  We look forward to our continued partnership with your students and all of our families in 2015-2016.  Please take every opportunity to spread the word of how our community is working through Christ to impact the lives of many as we seek to continue to grow our enrollment.

K5 & Lower School Students to Partner in Creative

Cardboard Challenge

Shannon Forest students in K5 - 5th Grade will take part in the first ever "Cardboard Challenge in the Forest" on Thursday, January 29, and Friday, January 30. The cardboard challenge is a worldwide celebration of child creativity that was inspired by a young boy who built an arcade out of cardboard.  Younger students will be paired with our older students to collaborate and create their own unique designs out of cardboard and other materials.  A generous donation of materials, including cardboard, tape, and glue has been offered to us from Progressive Packaging.  We would also like to ask our families to save materials as well - anything from bottle tops to wrapping paper tubes, to empty K cups. The more materials we offer, the more creative the students can be!  Collected items can be delivered to the Lower School Office.
