Lower School Stem Lab Premieres With Tinker Tuesday!

The implementation of Shannon Forest's Lower School STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math education) Lab came to life this past Tuesday with the first-ever session with our "mobile maker" space.  During their "Tinker Tuesday" experience, Upper School students from Mr. Ethun's Physics class collaborated with Mrs. Thompson's 3rd Grade students to explore the potential prototyping power of "littleBits"- electronic modules that magnetically snap together, allowing them to invent almost anything.  Students used the "littleBits" building kits and their knowledge of circuitry to design, build and test their amazing creations.  This kind of hands-on problem solving through the use of rapid-prototyping allows students to apply their knowledge and creative capacity in innovative ways.  Stay tuned for more exciting news from future STEM Lab experiences!
