INTERNATIONAL STUDENT PROFILE

Omon Edobor Feels Right at Home at Shannon Forest!

This week's International Student Profile features senior Omon Edobor, a first-year, 22ft Academy team member.  Originally from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, his family has also lived in Dallas, Texas.  Prior to his arrival in Greenville, Omon attended a prep school in California.  He joined the Shannon Forest community in September and immediately felt welcomed and at home.  "I love Shannon Forest," he said.  "The staff and teachers take you in like family and check on you academically, as well as on the court."  Omon's favorite classes are Bible and Truth vs. Fiction, both taught by Ryan Godsey.  "Mr. Godsey has a great understanding of how to translate information in a way students can understand."  Omon also enjoys the support of his classmates at Shannon.  The Windy Gap experience was a memorable one for Omon.  He loved the activities, chapels and getting to know the school outside of the world of basketball.  Omon hopes to play basketball at the college level and is interested in pursuing a Mechanical Engineering or Kinesiology (strength and conditioning/personal training) degree.  He is looking forward to seeing his parents and sister in Canada during Christmas break and hopes to travel to Texas to visit his brother in the near future.   We're glad you're here, Omon!
